Tayeb Inc. ("Tayeb", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Tayeb websites, the Tayeb customer app, Tayeb Driver, Tayeb Merchant and Tayeb POS, how we use that information, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We follow Jordanian data protection law and recognised international standards.
1. Who we are
Tayeb Inc. is a company registered in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with its headquarters in Amman. Tayeb Inc. is the data controller for personal information processed through the Tayeb Services. You can reach our privacy team at [email protected].
2. Information you give us
When you create an account we collect your name, mobile phone number, email address, and password. When you place an order we collect your delivery address, contact details for the delivery, the order itself and any notes you add. If you pay by card we collect the card type, last four digits and a payment token from our payment provider, not the full card number. If you contact support we keep a record of the conversation.
3. Information we collect automatically
When you use the Tayeb Services we collect device information (model, operating system, app version, language and time zone), approximate location derived from your IP address, and precise location when you grant the relevant permission. We also collect technical events such as screen views, taps and crashes, and identifiers used to keep you signed in and to prevent fraud.
4. Information from third parties
If you sign in with a third party such as Apple or Google we receive a basic profile (name and email) from that provider. If you take part in a promotion run with a partner, we may receive a code or confirmation that you are entitled to the offer. We do not buy customer data from data brokers.
5. How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account, to place and deliver your orders, to take payments, to send you order updates, receipts and important service notifications, to provide customer support, to detect and prevent fraud and abuse, to comply with our legal obligations, and to make Tayeb safer and more useful through aggregated analytics.
6. Marketing
If you opt in, we will send you marketing about new restaurants, promotions and Tayeb features. You can opt out at any time using the link in any marketing email or from inside the app's notification settings. Transactional messages about your orders are not marketing and will continue while you have an account.
7. Who we share information with
We share order details with the restaurant or merchant fulfilling your order and with the driver delivering it, so they can prepare and deliver what you asked for. We share payment information with regulated payment service providers. We share limited technical data with hosting, analytics, crash reporting and customer support providers under contract. We share information with the Jordanian authorities where we are legally required to do so. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside Jordan. Where this is the case, we use providers that offer a level of protection consistent with Jordanian law and put contracts in place that require them to handle your data with appropriate safeguards.
9. How long we keep information
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. We keep order, payment and tax records for as long as required by Jordanian law, typically up to ten years. We keep support transcripts for two years. Aggregated and fully anonymised data may be kept indefinitely because it no longer identifies you.
10. Security
We use industry standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, restricted internal access, password hashing, and continuous monitoring of our systems. No service can be completely secure, so we ask that you also help by keeping your password private and your devices up to date.
11. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, to limit how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Most of these rights can be exercised directly from inside the Tayeb app. For anything else, write to [email protected].
12. Children
Tayeb is not intended for children under sixteen. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
13. Cookies and similar technologies
Our websites use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language. We use privacy friendly analytics that do not build advertising profiles about you. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
14. Drivers and merchants
If you are a driver or merchant using a Tayeb app, additional information is processed about you, including your identification documents, vehicle details for drivers, bank details for payouts, and ratings linked to completed orders. The driver and merchant agreements explain this in more detail.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and inside the Tayeb apps, and update the "Last updated" date. If the changes are material we will notify you inside the app.
16. Contact and complaints
If you have any question or complaint about how Tayeb handles your personal information, please contact our privacy team at [email protected]. We aim to respond within thirty days. You also have the right to file a complaint with the competent Jordanian data protection authority.
This Privacy Policy is published by Tayeb Inc. and applies to all of the Tayeb Services. It is intended to be read alongside the privacy notices you are shown when you create an account in each Tayeb app.
